Jeff Avila is a Bay Area painter whose work focus on nontraditional portraiture. His painting practice is lead by intuition and seeks to look past the expectation of a physical likeness. Instead he strives to offer a deeper observation of his subjects that push expressive and emotional qualities in an affirmation of individual truth.

In 2023 his painting Uneasy Sleep was selected for The Royal Society of Portrait Painters annual portrait show and exhibited at Mall Galleries in London alongside top contemporary portrait artists from all over the world.
